These bourbon BBQ meatballs bring together smoky barbecue sauce, sweet brown sugar, and the rich flavor of bourbon. They're easy to make, even easier to serve, and guaranteed to disappear quickly at your next gathering.
Serves 8-10
Ingredients
2 lbs fully cooked frozen meatballs, thawed
1 cup barbecue sauce
½ cup bourbon
⅓ cup brown sugar, packed
2 tablespoons honey
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
½ teaspoon garlic powder
¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
Instructions
In a large skillet or saucepan, combine barbecue sauce, bourbon, brown sugar, honey, Worcestershire sauce, vinegar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and cayenne.
Bring the sauce to a gentle simmer over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves.
Simmer uncovered for 8–10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until slightly thickened.
Add the fully cooked meatballs and stir until evenly coated.
Cover and simmer for another 10–15 minutes, until the meatballs are heated through to 165°F.
Transfer to a serving dish, garnish with chopped parsley if desired, and serve warm with toothpicks.
Boozy Foods Tip
A bourbon with caramel, vanilla, and oak notes works beautifully in this glaze. Add a splash of hot sauce for an extra kick!
Cook With It: Jim Beam Original Bourbon — its classic bourbon flavor complements the sweet, smoky sauce.
Sip With It: A cold amber ale balances the sweetness of the glaze and complements the smoky BBQ flavor.

Golden, crunchy, and downright irresistible! These homemade onion rings get their light, crispy coating from a bubbly beer batter. Serve them hot with a tangy dipping sauce, and watch them disappear before the main course even hits the table.
Serves 6
Ingredients
For the onion rings:
2 large sweet onions
1½ cups all-purpose flour, divided
1 cup cold lager or pilsner
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon paprika
½ teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon black pepper
Vegetable oil for frying
For the dipping sauce:
½ cup mayonnaise
2 tablespoons ketchup
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
½ teaspoon smoked paprika
1 teaspoon pickle juice
Instructions
Peel onions and slice into ½-inch-thick rings. Separate the rings and pat dry.
In a shallow bowl, place ½ cup flour for dredging.
In another bowl, whisk the remaining 1 cup flour, baking powder, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
Slowly whisk in the cold beer until a smooth batter forms.
Heat approximately 2 inches of vegetable oil in a heavy pot to 350°F.
Dredge onion rings lightly in flour, dip into beer batter, and carefully lower into the hot oil.
Fry in small batches for 2–4 minutes, turning as needed, until golden brown and crispy.
Transfer to a wire rack or paper towels. Mix dipping sauce ingredients and serve immediately.
Boozy Foods Tip
Keep the beer ice cold! Cold, carbonated beer helps create a light, airy batter. Avoid overcrowding the pot to keep your onion rings extra crispy.
Cook With It: Miller High Life — a crisp American lager that makes a light, golden batter.
Sip With It: A cold pilsner provides a refreshing contrast to the crunchy, fried onions.

Get ready to dip into something delicious! This rich, creamy beer cheese dip combines sharp cheddar, smooth cream cheese, and flavorful amber ale for the ultimate party appetizer. Pair it with warm pretzels, crusty bread, or crunchy vegetables for a crowd-pleasing favorite.
Serves 6
Ingredients
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
¾ cup amber ale
½ cup whole milk
8 oz cream cheese, cubed
2 cups freshly shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
½ teaspoon garlic powder
¼ teaspoon smoked paprika
Salt and black pepper to taste
Soft pretzels, bread, or vegetables for dipping
Instructions
Melt butter in a medium saucepan over medium-low heat.
Whisk in flour and cook for approximately 1 minute, stirring constantly.
Gradually whisk in the beer and milk until smooth.
Cook for 2–3 minutes, stirring, until the mixture begins to thicken.
Reduce heat to low and add cream cheese, stirring until melted.
Gradually add shredded cheddar, one handful at a time, stirring until smooth.
Stir in Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and smoked paprika.
Season with salt and pepper. Serve warm with your favorite dippers.
Boozy Foods Tip
Shred your own cheddar for the smoothest dip. Pre-shredded cheese often contains anti-caking ingredients that can make cheese sauce grainy. Keep the heat low once the cheese is added.
Cook With It: Samuel Adams Boston Lager — its rich, toasted malt flavor adds depth to the creamy cheddar cheese dip.
Sip With It: An amber ale or brown ale brings out the toasted, savory flavors of the cheese.

Sweet, sticky, and packed with flavor! These crispy oven-baked wings are tossed in a mouthwatering honey-whiskey glaze with garlic, soy sauce, and a little heat. They're the perfect combination of sweet and savory, making them a must-have for your next gathering.
Serves 6
Ingredients
For the wings:
3 lbs chicken wings, split
1 tablespoon baking powder (not baking soda)
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon black pepper
For the glaze:
⅓ cup whiskey
⅓ cup honey
¼ cup soy sauce
2 tablespoons brown sugar
2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
1 teaspoon hot sauce (optional)
Instructions
Preheat oven to 425°F. Line a baking sheet with foil and place an oven-safe wire rack on top.
Pat chicken wings very dry with paper towels.
Toss wings with baking powder, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
Arrange on the rack in a single layer and bake for 40–45 minutes, turning halfway through, until crisp and at least 165°F internally.
While the wings bake, combine whiskey, honey, soy sauce, brown sugar, vinegar, garlic, ginger, and hot sauce in a saucepan.
Bring to a gentle simmer and cook for 8–10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thickened slightly.
Toss the cooked wings in the warm glaze.
Garnish with sliced green onions or sesame seeds and serve immediately.
Boozy Foods Tip
For extra-crispy wings, leave them uncovered in the refrigerator for a few hours before baking. Always glaze after cooking to keep that delicious crunch!
Cook With It: Jack Daniel's Tennessee Whiskey — its smooth vanilla and toasted oak notes complement the honey glaze.
Sip With It: A crisp American lager helps balance the sticky sweetness and savory seasoning.

Bring a little sunshine to your appetizer spread! These juicy shrimp are marinated in tequila, fresh lime juice, garlic, and cilantro, then grilled until perfectly tender. Bright, zesty, and bursting with flavor, they're a delicious addition to any summer cookout or fiesta.
Serves 6
Ingredients
1½ lbs large shrimp, peeled and deveined
¼ cup blanco tequila
¼ cup fresh lime juice
2 tablespoons olive oil
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons fresh cilantro, chopped
1 teaspoon honey
½ teaspoon chili powder
½ teaspoon ground cumin
½ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon black pepper
Lime wedges for serving
Instructions
In a large bowl, whisk together tequila, lime juice, olive oil, garlic, cilantro, honey, chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper.
Add shrimp and toss gently to coat.
Cover and refrigerate for 15–20 minutes. Avoid marinating longer, as the lime juice can affect the shrimp's texture.
Thread shrimp onto skewers. If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for at least 30 minutes beforehand.
Preheat grill to medium-high heat and lightly oil the grates.
Grill shrimp for approximately 2–3 minutes per side, until opaque and cooked through to 145°F.
Transfer to a platter, garnish with cilantro, and serve with fresh lime wedges.
Boozy Foods Tip
Use fresh lime juice instead of bottled for the brightest flavor. Don't overcook the shrimp—they cook quickly and taste best when juicy and tender.
Cook With It: Espolòn Blanco Tequila — its bright agave and citrus character works beautifully with lime and garlic.
Sip With It: A classic margarita complements the citrusy shrimp, or try a crisp Mexican lager for a lighter pairing.

Soft, chewy, and loaded with pub-style flavor! These homemade pretzel bites get a rich, malty twist from Guinness stout and are served with warm, creamy beer cheese. They're a delicious combination that's perfect for game day, Oktoberfest, or any gathering that calls for something seriously snackable.
Serves 8
Ingredients
For the pretzel bites:
1 cup Guinness Draught, room temperature
2¼ teaspoons active dry yeast (1 packet)
1 tablespoon brown sugar
3 cups all-purpose flour, plus more as needed
2 tablespoons melted butter
1 teaspoon salt
8 cups water
½ cup baking soda
1 egg, beaten
Coarse pretzel salt
For the beer cheese:
1 tablespoon butter
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
½ cup amber ale
½ cup whole milk
1½ cups freshly shredded sharp cheddar
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
¼ teaspoon garlic powder
Instructions
In a large bowl, combine room-temperature Guinness, yeast, and brown sugar. Let stand for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
Add flour, melted butter, and salt. Mix until a soft dough forms, adding a little flour if needed.
Knead for 5–7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Cover and let rise in a warm place for approximately 1 hour, or until doubled.
Preheat oven to 425°F and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
Divide dough into 6 pieces, roll each into a rope, and cut into 1-inch bites.
Bring 8 cups water to a boil in a large pot. Carefully add baking soda in small amounts.
Boil pretzel bites in batches for 20–30 seconds, then remove with a slotted spoon.
Arrange on baking sheets, brush with beaten egg, and sprinkle with coarse salt.
Bake for 12–15 minutes until deep golden brown.
For the cheese sauce, melt butter in a saucepan. Whisk in flour and cook for 1 minute. Gradually whisk in beer and milk, simmer until slightly thickened, then reduce heat and stir in cheddar, mustard, and garlic powder until smooth.
Boozy Foods Tip
The baking soda bath gives pretzels their signature chewy texture and deep golden color. For extra indulgence, brush the finished pretzels with melted butter.
Cook With It: Guinness Draught for the pretzel dough, plus an amber ale for the cheese sauce.
Sip With It: A smooth Irish stout complements the malty pretzels and rich cheddar dip.

Sweet meets savory with a splash of tropical fun! Juicy pineapple chunks wrapped in smoky bacon are brushed with a buttery brown sugar and dark rum glaze, then baked until caramelized. These irresistible little bites are the perfect mix of salty, sweet, and slightly boozy.
Serves 8
Ingredients
24 fresh pineapple chunks, approximately 1 inch each
12 slices regular-cut bacon, halved
¼ cup dark rum
¼ cup packed brown sugar
2 tablespoons honey
1 tablespoon butter
1 teaspoon lime juice
¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
Pinch of cayenne pepper (optional)
24 toothpicks
Instructions
Preheat oven to 400°F. Line a rimmed baking sheet with foil and place an oven-safe wire rack on top.
Pat pineapple chunks dry with paper towels.
Wrap each pineapple chunk with half a slice of bacon and secure with a toothpick.
Arrange on the wire rack, leaving space between pieces.
In a small saucepan, combine rum, brown sugar, honey, butter, lime juice, cinnamon, and cayenne.
Bring to a gentle simmer and cook for 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until slightly thickened.
Brush pineapple bites lightly with the glaze.
Bake for 25–30 minutes, turning halfway through, until the bacon is fully cooked and crisp. Brush with additional glaze during the final 5 minutes.
Allow to cool slightly before serving. Serve with the remaining glaze only if it has been kept separate from the brush used on raw bacon.
Boozy Foods Tip
Fresh pineapple works best because it holds its shape during baking. For extra-crispy bacon, use regular-cut rather than thick-cut slices.
Cook With It: Myers's Original Dark Rum — its rich molasses notes complement the caramelized pineapple.
Sip With It: A refreshing pineapple rum punch or a crisp wheat beer balances the sweet and smoky flavors.

Simple ingredients, sophisticated flavor! Tender mushrooms are sautéed in butter, garlic, and white wine, creating a rich, savory sauce that's perfect for soaking up with crusty bread. This elegant appetizer is easy enough for a weeknight and impressive enough for entertaining.
Serves 6
Ingredients
1½ lbs cremini or baby bella mushrooms, cleaned and halved
3 tablespoons butter
1 tablespoon olive oil
4 cloves garlic, minced
½ cup dry white wine
1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
½ teaspoon salt, or to taste
¼ teaspoon black pepper
Toasted baguette slices for serving
Instructions
Heat olive oil and 2 tablespoons butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Add mushrooms in an even layer. Cook for 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until browned and their moisture begins to evaporate.
Reduce heat to medium and add minced garlic and thyme. Cook for approximately 1 minute until fragrant.
Pour in white wine, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet.
Simmer for 4–5 minutes until the wine reduces by approximately half.
Stir in remaining butter, lemon juice, salt, and pepper.
Remove from heat and sprinkle with fresh parsley.
Serve warm with toasted baguette slices for dipping.
Boozy Foods Tip
Don't overcrowd the skillet! Mushrooms need room to brown rather than steam. Cook in batches if necessary for the best flavor and texture.
Cook With It: Kendall-Jackson Vintner's Reserve Chardonnay — a flavorful white wine that adds richness to the buttery sauce.
Sip With It: A chilled Pinot Grigio or Sauvignon Blanc offers a refreshing contrast to the savory mushrooms.

Brush onto cooked meats during the final few minutes of grilling or roasting.
Serve any reserved, uncontaminated glaze on the side for dipping or drizzling.

Cook With It: Jack Daniel's Tennessee Whiskey — its mellow character works beautifully with honey and garlic.
Sip With It: A crisp lager or off-dry Riesling balances the sweet glaze.

Yields ¾ cup

Ingredients
1 cup dry red wine
¼ cup balsamic vinegar
½ cup low-sodium beef broth
1 small shallot, finely minced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 tablespoon honey
1 sprig fresh rosemary
2 tablespoons cold unsalted butter
¼ teaspoon black pepper
Salt to taste
Instructions
Heat olive oil in a small saucepan over medium heat.
Add minced shallot and sauté for 2–3 minutes until softened.
Add garlic and cook for another 30 seconds, until fragrant.
Pour in red wine, balsamic vinegar, and beef broth.

Return pork chops and their juices to the skillet. Cook, turning and spooning the glaze over them, until the pork reaches 145°F internally.
Remove from heat, stir butter into the sauce, and let the pork rest for 3 minutes before serving.
Boozy Foods Tip
For extra flavor, use bone-in pork chops and adjust the cooking time accordingly. Serve with mashed sweet potatoes or roasted Brussels sprouts to complement the sweet bourbon glaze.

Crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and bursting with flavor! This backyard BBQ favorite uses beer to add moisture and flavor while the chicken roasts to golden perfection. It's a fun, crowd-pleasing centerpiece for your next cookout.
Serves 4–6
Ingredients
1 whole chicken, approximately 4–5 lbs
1 can (12 oz) lager beer
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon brown sugar
2 teaspoons smoked paprika
2 teaspoons garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon kosher salt
½ teaspoon black pepper
½ teaspoon dried thyme
¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
Instructions
Preheat a grill to approximately 375°F using indirect heat.
Remove giblets from chicken, if present, and pat the chicken thoroughly dry.
Mix brown sugar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, thyme, and cayenne.
Rub chicken with olive oil and coat evenly with the seasoning mixture.
Pour approximately half the beer into a heat-safe drip pan. Place the opened, half-full can securely in a purpose-built poultry roasting stand.
Carefully lower the chicken over the supported can, ensuring it sits upright and stable.
Place on the grill over indirect heat, close the lid, and cook for approximately 75–90 minutes, checking the internal temperature.
Cook until the thickest part of the breast and thigh reach at least 165°F.
Carefully remove the chicken and stand using heat-resistant gloves. Let rest 10–15 minutes before removing the can and carving.
Boozy Foods Tip
Use a stable poultry stand and keep the chicken over indirect heat. A beer can can become dangerously hot, so handle it carefully. Beer-can roasting is a fun presentation, but the beer itself does not guarantee a juicier chicken.
Cook With It: Miller High Life — a crisp lager that complements the savory seasonings.
Sip With It: A cold pilsner or wheat beer is a refreshing match for the smoky roasted chicken.

Stir in garlic and tomato paste and cook for 1 minute.
Add red wine and scrape up the browned bits from the bottom of the pot.
Simmer for approximately 10 minutes to reduce the wine slightly.
Add beef broth, rosemary, thyme, and bay leaves. Return short ribs to the pot.
Cover and transfer to the oven. Braise for approximately 2½–3 hours, until the meat is fork-tender.
Remove short ribs and skim excess fat from the sauce. Simmer the sauce briefly if a thicker consistency is desired.
Serve over creamy mashed potatoes or polenta, spooning the rich sauce over the top.
Boozy Foods Tip
This dish tastes even better the next day! Refrigerate overnight, remove the solidified fat, and gently reheat before serving.

Bake for 25–30 minutes until the pastry is puffed and golden and the filling is bubbling.
Let rest for 10 minutes before serving.

Serves 4
Ingredients
4 beef tenderloin medallions, approximately 6 oz each
2 tablespoons olive oil
3 tablespoons unsalted butter, divided
8 oz cremini mushrooms, sliced
1 small shallot, minced
3 cloves garlic, minced
¾ cup dry red wine
½ cup low-sodium beef broth
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves
½ teaspoon kosher salt
½ teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper
Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
Remove beef from the refrigerator approximately 20 minutes before cooking. Pat dry and season with salt and pepper.
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Add beef medallions and sear for approximately 3–5 minutes per side, depending on thickness.
Cook to your desired doneness, using a meat thermometer. For USDA guidance, whole cuts of beef should reach 145°F followed by a 3-minute rest.
Transfer beef to a plate and tent loosely with foil.
Reduce heat to medium and add 1 tablespoon butter and the sliced mushrooms.
Sauté mushrooms for 5–6 minutes until browned.
Add shallot and garlic and cook for another minute.

Remove from heat and whisk in remaining 2 tablespoons butter.
Return beef and any accumulated juices to the skillet briefly, then serve topped with mushroom sauce and fresh parsley.
Boozy Foods Tip
